Description
Who it’s for: Anyone running delivery in sprints or flow who needs to know how fast the work is really moving.
What happens in it: a short film shows a client with a date in mind, a backlog that won’t fit, and the number that tells you honestly. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: I lead the team building Fernbrook Bakehouse’s online ordering app, in two-week sprints. Over the last three sprints we completed 45, 52 and 50 story points of finished stories. At the end of the latest sprint, a 13-point story was almost done but had not passed testing. 392 story points are left in the release backlog, and the owner wants to know how many sprints the release will take. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Lillian, the delivery lead, in three questions.
How it works: five scenes in about 35 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 1 of 5 in the Agile delivery flow season of the Project Management series.
