Description
Who it’s for: Anyone who has to say where a project will land, and what it will take to pull it back.
What happens in it: a short film shows a team promising to make up an overspend, the work and money left, and what that promise really asks. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: installing CCTV and access control across a university campus, on a total budget of R2,500,000. The project is 40% complete, an earned value of R1,000,000, and the actual cost to date is R1,100,000. The university’s facilities director asks whether the project can still finish within the R2,500,000. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Seraphina, the project manager, in three questions.
How it works: five scenes in about 35 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 5 of 5 in the Forecasting and recovery season of the Project Management series.
