Description
Who it’s for: Anyone accountable for what gets shipped, who needs to know what rework and defects are really costing.
What happens in it: a short film shows a report that says almost everything passed, the rework behind it, and the number that shows it. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: I manage the installation of rooftop solar and battery systems on the buildings of Mosswood Farmers’ Co-operative. My crews have finished the first phase. The commissioning engineer inspected 450 items: panel mountings, inverters, battery connections, isolators and cable runs. 378 items passed every check at the first inspection. 72 failed at least one check; 63 of those have since been fixed and passed re-inspection, and 9 still need work. The client asks how well the installation was done. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Evangeline, the installation manager, in three questions.
How it works: five scenes in about 35 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 2 of 5 in the Quality season of the Project Management series.
