Description
Who it’s for: Anyone accountable for what gets shipped, who needs to know what rework and defects are really costing.
What happens in it: a short film shows a job handed over, the calls that follow, and the share of defects that slipped through. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: I built a new community library for the town council. It was handed over three months ago, and the defects liability period has just ended. Before handover, my team’s inspections found 63 defects, all fixed before the opening. During the defects liability period, the council reported 27 more workmanship and material defects. My director asks how well the team’s inspections did. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Rosamund, the project manager, in three questions.
How it works: five scenes in about 35 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 3 of 5 in the Quality season of the Project Management series.
