Description
Who it’s for: Anyone whose projects grow after they were priced, and who needs to show where the extra work came from.
What happens in it: a short film shows a fit-out that looks on plan if you count only the approvals, and the rate that shows the real pressure. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: upgrading the water pump stations for Elmwood County, on a budget of R3,000,000. The project has been running for 6 months, and my change log shows 24 change requests: 14 approved, 6 rejected and 4 still waiting for a decision. The county’s planning allowed for no more than 2.5 requests a month, and the steering committee wants to know where things stand. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Casimir, the project manager, in three questions.
How it works: five scenes in about 35 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 2 of 5 in the Scope and change control season of the Project Management series.
