Description
Who it’s for: Anyone who has to answer for a marketing number and wants to answer one question properly: What does each visitor from your ads cost you, and why is it going up?
What happens in it: Watch the idea unfold: two campaigns, the clicks they bought, and the number that prices each visitor. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: I’m reviewing last month’s Google search campaign for our beach holiday packages. The account shows R48,000 spent and 6,000 clicks received. Dale Oakhurst, looking over my shoulder, says: “That spend looks high. We might need to cut the budget.” I haven’t yet worked out what the spend means per click. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Barnaby, the marketing director, in three questions.
How it works: five scenes in about 35 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 3 of 6 in the Paid media performance season of the Marketing series.
