In 35 minutes you will work out Marketing % of CAC from marketing and total sales and marketing spend. You will also read the mix as marketing-led, balanced or sales-led for your model and stage. And you will judge performance with CAC and LTV to CAC, not with the mix alone.

Description

Who it’s for: Anyone who has to answer for a marketing number and wants to answer one question properly: How much of what it costs to win a customer is marketing?

What happens in it: Watch the idea unfold: the acquisition budget, how it splits between marketing and sales, and what the split says. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: I’m presenting the quarter’s acquisition numbers to Sarah Collins, our CMO. Total sales and marketing spend: R300,000 for 40 new customers, a CAC of R7,500. R180,000 of it was marketing and R120,000 sales. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Robert, the cFO, in three questions.

How it works: five scenes in about 35 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 2 of 5 in the Customer unit economics season of the Marketing series.
