In 30 minutes you will work out average transaction value from total sales revenue and completed transactions. You will also count transactions rather than items, and keep both figures in the same period. And you will segment ATV and use it as the baseline for a till-point change.

Description

Who it’s for: Anyone in a store or a retail head office who has to answer one question: What is a visit worth?

What happens in it: Watch the idea unfold: a month of takings, the transactions behind them, and what happens when you divide by items instead. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: I run three fast-casual burger outlets. A foot traffic campaign has been bringing people in for months, but profit growth has been slower than I expected. Last month we took R1,350,000 from 9,000 transactions. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Claudette, the managing partner, in three questions.

How it works: five scenes in about 30 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 4 of 6 in the Store sales and shoppers season of the Retail series.
