Description
Who it’s for: Anyone overseeing several projects at once who needs to know which of them need attention.
What happens in it: a short film shows a proud sales line, eight closed projects, and the three tests each one has to pass. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: I run High Plains Construction, a building contractor that delivers schools, clinics and community halls. We closed 10 projects in the past financial year. One, a community hall, was cancelled when its funding was withdrawn. Of the other nine, six finished within 5% of the agreed duration and budget with all agreed scope signed off, and three missed at least one of those tests. The board wants a success rate for our tender submissions. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Maribel, the general manager, in three questions.
How it works: five scenes in about 35 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 5 of 5 in the Portfolio view season of the Project Management series.
