Description
Who it’s for: Anyone overseeing several projects at once who needs to know which of them need attention.
What happens in it: a short film shows a reassuring count, a phone call about a late bank branch, and the two tests every project must pass. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: I head the capital projects office at Harbor Point Health, a private hospital group. At the 31 August status date I have current figures for all six active projects. Five have a CPI at or above 0.95, and four have both CPI and SPI at or above 0.95. A seventh project, a parking deck, is paused while we renegotiate the land lease. The board wants to know what share of our projects is on track. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Bridget, the head of the capital projects office, in three questions.
How it works: five scenes in about 35 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 3 of 5 in the Portfolio view season of the Project Management series.
