Description

Who it’s for: Anyone carrying risk on a project who needs to know whether the contingency will hold.

What happens in it: a short film shows a quick fix, a slow one, and the average that shows where issues get stuck. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: rolling out new Wi-Fi and network cabling across the campus of Elkhorn Technical College, a R1,800,000 job. We have logged thirteen issues. Ten are closed with the fix confirmed, and took a total of 70 days to resolve. Three are still open and have been open for a combined 55 days so far. The college’s IT director asks how quickly the project is resolving its issues. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Bertrand, the project manager, in three questions.

How it works: five scenes in about 35 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 5 of 5 in the Risk and issues season of the Project Management series.
