Description
Who it’s for: Anyone planning people across projects who needs to know whether the team is stretched or just badly scheduled.
What happens in it: a short film shows a month of deadlines met, the late nights behind them, and the number that shows the strain. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: building a new school gym for the Penhallow School District. My team of 6 has 160 regular hours each this month. To keep the roof on schedule before the fall storms, the team worked 168 hours of overtime. The district wants to know whether we are relying too heavily on extra hours, against its limit of 10%. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Sterling, the project manager, in three questions.
How it works: five scenes in about 35 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 2 of 5 in the Resources and capacity season of the Project Management series.
