Description
Who it’s for: Anyone whose projects grow after they were priced, and who needs to show where the extra work came from.
What happens in it: a short film shows a fit-out that grows one small favour at a time, and the number that shows how far. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: fitting out a new regional office for Cedar Valley Credit Union. The original scope value was R1,500,000 when the client signed off. Since then, the client has approved R105,000 of change orders, and my site foreman has agreed R75,000 of extras directly with the branch manager. The current scope value is now R1,680,000. The client’s finance team asks how much the project has grown. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Octavia, the project manager, in three questions.
How it works: five scenes in about 35 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 1 of 5 in the Scope and change control season of the Project Management series.
