Description
Who it’s for: Anyone who has to say where a project will land, and what it will take to pull it back.
What happens in it: a short film shows the money left in the budget, the forecast behind it, and the shortfall nobody has seen yet. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: replacing a bulk water pipeline for our district, on a total budget of R4,000,000. The project is 30% complete, an earned value of R1,200,000, and the actual cost to date is R1,500,000. The finance committee asks how much more money it must set aside to finish the pipeline. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Philippa, the project manager, in three questions.
How it works: five scenes in about 35 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 3 of 5 in the Forecasting and recovery season of the Project Management series.
