In 30 minutes you will work out a unit rate in rand per kg or rand per litre, and choose the best buy. You will also convert grams and millilitres before comparing packs of different sizes. And you will see through per-pack and per-bottle prices, and say the saving per unit and per month.

Description

Who it’s for: Anyone in business who works with prices, costs, budgets or reports and wants to be sure the numbers are right.

What happens in it: a short film shows two bottles of sunflower oil, a customer’s question, and the price of one litre. In Your call you make the decisions in a real case: three supplier offers for dishwashing liquid, in three pack sizes, and a sales rep with a per-bottle price. Then, in the boardroom, you make the case to Yolanda, the procurement manager, in three questions.

How it works: five scenes in about 30 minutes: the data film, the lesson, Your call, practice with fresh numbers that mark themselves, and the boardroom. Finish all five for your certificate. It is course 3 of 5 in the Ratios and proportion season of the Numbers for Business series.
